Little Foodies: Sugar Rush

Rows of cupcakes with towering frosting are some of the first things you see as you step into Sugar Rush, a cute bakery and sweets shop in downtown Greenfield. This family-owned shop features classic candies and desserts, cupcakes made in-house daily, locally sourced baked goods, cookies, pies and more.

If your favorite part of the cupcake is the frosting, then you’ve found your place. The cupcakes at Sugar Rush are equal parts cake and frosting, and come in dozens of flavors. You’ll find cupcake flavors like cookies n’ cream, butter pecan, and Death By Chocolate. You’ll also find Cookie Monster cupcakes, with tall dollops of bright blue frosting, edible eyeballs and a chocolate chip cookie in the cupcake monster’s mouth. Seasonal flavors change frequently, so there’s always something new to try each time you visit.

Shelves of classic candy like taffy, butterscotch, peach rings and bubble gum line the walls in bulk bins. Scoop out as much as you like of your favorites! Or choose from the packaged candies, like Sugar Daddies, Chuckies, Wax Lips, Pez dispensers and giant lollipops.

Make sure to grab a scoop of ice cream — either in a cone or cup. Or, for the ultimate sugar rush, pair a scoop of ice cream with a cupcake. Sugar Rush has lots of ways to satisfy any sweet tooth!
