Indy’s Child supports Indy Reads Books!

In honor of Read Across America Day, Indy’s Child donated over 150 brand new books to Indy Reads Books!

Indy Reads Books (www.indyreadsbooks.org) the only independent bookstore in downtown Indianapolis, offers a host of resources and activities for area families. The quaint historic building located on Mass Avenue sells mostly used and some new books for adults and children and can special order most books. The weekly list of activities such as chess club, story time, reading to therapy pets and literacy stations are free and many of the hardcover “kid lit” selections are priced at just $1.00!

Profits from Indy Reads Books go directly toward improving literacy in our community through the not-for-profit organization Indy Reads whose mission is to improve the literacy skills of adults in central Indiana who currently read at or below the sixth grade level.

The dedicated staff and volunteers of Indy Reads Books are passionate about books and about promoting literacy in our community.

So, stop by, make a donation, volunteer, or purchase a copy of the Indy Writes Books treasury fundraising book. (available at http://www.indyreads.org/indy-writes-books/ ) I just finished reading it and it is, indeed, a treasure!
