Indy Parks April Event Highlights

With spring finally in bloom, Indy Parks is looking forward to hosting a wide range of events to celebrate the sunshine and the community Indianapolis has to offer. There is always something to explore across our system of 216 parks, so be sure to mark the coming month with these exciting upcoming events!

On April 8, 2024, Indianapolis will witness a once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse from inside the path of totality, making it visible for over 3 minutes. What better way to celebrate this breathtaking experience than to spend time outside with family at your local park? Join us for A Total Eclipse of the Parks, presented by AES Indiana.

All 216 Indy Parks locations will remain open to the public during normal hours on April 8, with 12 parks serving as featured eclipse watch sites. Pre-registration is required for these 12 sites as parking is limited. Solar eclipse glasses will be provided to registrants while supplies last. Bring your chairs, blankets, pack a picnic, and plan to stay awhile before and after totality to fully enjoy the show! To register, visit parks.indy.gov/a-total-eclipse-of-the-parks.
