Q & A with Children’s Art Classes, Brownsburg LLC
What makes your camp unique?
At Children’s Art Classes, summer workshops are designed for young artists who are ready to be challenged, inspired, and stretched creatively. These are studio art experiences that build strong artistic skills and confidence, not simple craft projects. Students work with professional-quality materials in drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, and ceramics, guided step-by-step by trained artists. Each project is designed to be both beautiful and technically challenging, helping students grow in skill, creativity, and artistic vision.
What activities are offered at your camp?
Students participate in painting lessons, drawing lessons, sketching, and pottery/ceramics projects designed for all experience levels. Workshops may include Aspiring Art Wizards: Hogwarts-Inspired, Mosaic Birdhouses & Stained-Glass Creations, Pikachu’s Starry Night, Clay Coil Pots, Anime & Manga Comics, Van Gogh’s Apprentice, Beginning Drawing, Jungles: Painting and Clay, Beginning Crochet, and more.
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
12 campers to 1 professional art teacher, with a possible studio assistant.
How much time do the campers spend outside?
Workshops are mostly indoors, though the group may take a short five-minute walk outside as a “brain break” between projects.
Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?
Parents provide a small snack and a water bottle for their child each day.
What is the typical daily schedule for campers?
2-Hour Camp: 55 minutes of art, 10-minute snack/water break, 55 minutes of art.
3-Hour Camp: 50 minutes of art, 10-minute clean-up/snack break, 50 minutes of art, 10-minute clean-up/water break, 50 minutes of art, 10-minute clean-up and dismissal.
How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
Staff are professional artists or teachers with college degrees in the arts. All staff are over 23 years old, and many are active professional artists outside of teaching at the studio. Teachers also receive additional training from Children’s Art Classes founders in studio teaching methods.
Does your child love to draw?
At Children’s Art Classes, workshops go beyond crafts. Students practice foundational techniques, explore artistic concepts, and receive expert guidance from trained artists, all in a convenient suburban studio.
