Indianapolis Children’s Choir to Host Annual Sing-A-Thon on February 22

The Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC), one of Indianapolis’ most recognizable music education and choral organizations, will hold their second annual Sing-A-Thon at Butler University’s Shelton Auditorium on February 22, 10:00am – 10:00pm.

The ICC Sing-A-Thon will bring current ICC singers, parents, alumni, supporters, friends, corporate partners and other community members together to sing and make music via a live broadcast on the ICC website and Facebook page. With a fundraising goal of $35,000, this community-wide event will last for 12 hours.

The ICC Sing-A-Thon’s main purpose is to show the community how music has the power to bring people together and show the benefits that can come from making music, all while raising money for programs and outreach efforts throughout the year. Donations start at $25 and support ICC choral experiences for children in the community.

“We know that music has the power to bring people together, to make our community healthier, and to improve the quality of life for our neighbors,” said Don Steffy, executive director of the ICC. “The Sing-A-Thon is the perfect opportunity for the ICC to bring our community together in song while supporting our mission.”

Community members can register to participate in various ways:

  • Join or form a fundraising team
  • Give individually or ask friends or family to do the same
  • Sing individually or as a group; audition required. Ex: duets, trios, quartets or large choral groups
  • Help spread the word on social media using #ICCSingathon

Any suggestions for groups or individuals to participate in any way? Let the ICC know at [email protected].

The event is open to all. Community members and ICC members can register to participate or donate at icchoir.org.
