Step inside Greenfield’s Hitherto Coffee & Gaming Parlour, and you’ll enter a relaxing and engaging hybrid cafe, operating as both a full-service specialty coffee and tea shop as well as an extended retail selection of tabletop board gaming.
Hitherto Food and Cafe Menu
You’ll need sustenance during that epic Ticket to Ride game. The café is run by chef/owner and hospitality and specialty coffee industry veteran Kevin Kerkhof. Hitherto offers French press, drip and pour overs, a traditional espresso-based drink menu including all the classics, plus housemade syrups. Kids enjoy frappes and smoothies: cotton candy, orange dreamsicle, frozen hot chocolate, horchata and more.
For food, regulars enjoy savory and sweet hand pies, galettes, croissants, danishes, and soft serve. Though the menu rotates, the sausage gravy hand pie, bourbon chocolate bombe, lemon sorbetto, and Greek yogurt swirl are crowd favorites.
Board Games
Merging the owner’s hobbies and loves, Hitherto offers games to play and/or purchase — more than 700 of them — featuring the best new and classic tabletop hobby board games. The focus of their curation is a wide selection of gateway classics, top ranked and award-winning, plus the hottest new releases and some hard to find titles, promos, and Kickstarter-funded games. Guests can check out any of the games to play at their table, and the staff is on hand to suggest a game or give quick tutorials. You don’t need to be a seasoned dungeon master to take advantage of Greenfield’s fantasyland. There’s a game for everyone — even those who aren’t competitive or experienced. Hitherto regularly hosts free “Learn to Play” events.
Hitherto’s tables are open to play on a first come basis without charge. If interested in securing a table space in advance, they offer table reservations for $20/hour, which goes toward future purchases. Game on!
