Festive Film Series Brings Holiday Classics to the Athenaeum

Who doesn’t love a good Christmas movie?

The Athenaeum Foundation, Downtown Indy, Inc. and Indy Film Fest sure do. The three organizations have partnered again for the Festive Film Series, bringing four holiday classics to the big screen throughout December.

“Celebration of the Christmas holiday is VERY big here at the Athenaeum, and we are super excited to extend this series by adding an additional show to this holiday film line up,” said Athenaeum president Craig Mince. “Our hope is that people experience this new holiday tradition with their families, friends and fellow movie lovers.”

Indianapolis residents, visitors and guests can purchase tickets to each film for $10. All proceeds will benefit Downtown Indy’s Beautification Fund and the preservation of the historic Athenaeum building.

“We are thrilled to include Festive Films again as part of our ‘Bright Lights-Holiday Sights’ campaign for the season,” said Bob Schultz, senior vice president of marketing, communications and events for Downtown Indy, Inc. “Partnering with the historic Athenaeum Foundation and the Indy Film Fest provides the outstanding place and expertise to offer these holiday classics to all who love Downtown Indianapolis during the holidays.”

The 2019 Festive Film series includes four Mondays at 7:00pm:

“Festive Films presents an opportunity for the Indianapolis community to celebrate the holidays in one of Indy’s most historic theatres,” said Dan Moore, executive director of Indy Film Fest. “This is a tradition and partnership that will only grow in the years to come.”

Each film will be shown in the Athenaeum’s Basile Theater. Find details on showtimes and other information here.
