Experience the Joy of Classical Ballet with the Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy

Experience a magical Christmas tradition at the Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy’s annual staging of The Nutcracker, Tchaikovsky’s classic story of a girl and her beloved nutcracker doll that comes to life.

You will be transported on an enchanted journey – from a joyous holiday party at The Stahlbaum’s, into an epic midnight battle between mice and toy soldiers, to the Kingdom of Snow, and finally through the Land of Sweets.

Along the way you’ll meet iconic characters including Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, Godfather Drosselmeyer, the evil Mouse Queen, the beautiful Snow Queen, Mother Ginger and her Gingersnaps, and of course the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier!

ABOUT THE BALLET THEATRE OF CARMEL ACADEMY
The Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy (BTCA) is a classical ballet school and performance company dedicated to developing happy, healthy dancers and helping them reach their fullest potential as both artists and community members. BTCA offers ballet technique, pointe, pas de deux, character, contemporary and jazz classes for boys and girls of all levels from preschool through pre-professional. A Day Program, summer camps and intensives, master classes with guest instructors, and performance opportunities for dancers of all ages are also available. All classes incorporate the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum.
Our academy environment is one of inclusivity and mutual support, and the studio is a place for young dancers to learn, connect, and inspire one another. We strive to give young dancing artists the tools necessary to succeed at the collegiate and professional levels, and we believe that through encouragement and dedication, our professional instructors can nurture dancers to a higher degree of dance achievement, confidence, and self-esteem. All dancers, regardless of their long term goals, are challenged to achieve their personal best and above all, to have fun as they follow their passion!
The Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy also endeavors to bring classical ballet and ballet opportunities to the community, further enriching the cultural life of Central Indiana and the surrounding areas. In addition to its annual Nutcracker and several associated outreach events to libraries and schools, BTCA presents a full-length spring ballet and performs at both the Penrod Arts Fair and the Carmel International Arts Festival. BTCA is also very proud of its ongoing partnership with Kids Dance Outreach—a program that provides high quality dance instruction in Indianapolis elementary schools.
