As winter draws to a close, the Maple Syrup Producers of Parke County embark on their annual tradition of tapping the local maple trees to produce sugar water essential for crafting maple syrup. Interested attendees are invited to partake the last weekend of February and the first weekend of March in the Parke County Maple Fair.
The Fair presents an idyllic journey via county roads and famed covered bridges. Here, visitors interact with the syrup-making process at multiple “sugar camps” across the county. They witness live demonstrations, get an insider’s view of the procedure, and can sample freshly made local syrup.
