The Indiana State Museum honors Hoosier veterans with a day built around its Heroes from the Heartland display on level 1. Families can look at artifacts from the museum’s collection, talk with the curator of history, try hands-on activities from community partners and leave notes of thanks on a talk-back wall.
The Indianapolis Municipal Band plays a Veterans Day concert at 3 p.m. The day is included with regular admission. Veterans and active-duty military get in free, their immediate family members get $2 off each admission pass, and free parking is available in the White River State Park garage for veterans and active military with ID, first come, first served.
