Christmas at the Zoo turns the grounds into a calm, twinkling winter walk. Families can sip hot cocoa and watch red pandas scamper, penguins play, a whiskered walrus glide, and an arctic fox move through the snow-themed habitat lighting. Santa’s Village adds to the charm with jolly animal encounters, a festive mirror maze, and Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen for simple treats. Grown-ups can warm up with seasonal beverages from ‘Shmallow and Daniels Family Vineyards.
Santa’s Magic Cottage opens at 5 p.m., where kids discover the “magic key” to the North Pole, share wishes with Santa, and take a photo to remember the visit. The line closes one hour before the zoo’s closing time. On December 4, the zoo marks World Wildlife Conservation Day with half-price admission. The event suits families with kids of all ages who like an easy evening outside with lights, music, and close-up animal moments. Note: the zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
