Enjoy an open-air painting exhibition and competition, quick paint and art fair on the sidewalks throughout the Carmel Arts & Design District and Midtown. Free to browse art!

The Carmel on Canvas Plein Air Painting Event provides artists with 3 days of plein air painting, within the Carmel Arts & Design District.

Early registration is $40 and registration the days of the event will be $50. We are awarding a total of $5,000 in awards with any sales going 100% to artists.

Artists may paint Friday and Saturday and submit one framed work for judging at the Artist’s Reception Saturday at the Indiana Design Center. The awards for this event will be $4,000, including $1,000 for Best of Show. Sunday, we will follow with the QUICK PAINT Sunday for artists 14 and older with awards totalling $1,000. Registration for this event will be $15, payable Sunday at registration.

The Carmel Artists Association will also assist with the student section for the Paint Out. Registration for that event will be free with awards announced at the registration.
