Enroll Indy is a local non-profit organization that works with Indianapolis Public Schools and most of the city’s charter schools to help families enroll in schools of their choice. Many people know that Enroll Indy runs the OneMatch application and lottery, but it also helps families find seats in schools year round! In the summer of 2018, Enroll Indy helped more than 4,000 families find schools over the summer — and this year they’ve made it easier! Families can now claim seats from home, using Enroll Indy’s Late Enrollment Portal.
Every day, Enroll Indy will publish an Open Seat Report on its website, showing what schools have availability at the moment.
Those who are interested in monitoring seat availability in real-time should create an account in the Late Enrollment Portal and add their child to their profile. From there, families will be able to claim seats as they become available. Visit enrollindy.org/late-enrollment to log in or create your account, and you’ll be ready to claim a seat for your child!
Late Enrollment FAQ
What is late enrollment, and when does it take place?
Late enrollment is the enrollment period that occurs during the summer, outside of the OneMatch system’s lottery rounds. Late enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year will run from June 3rd through the month of August. Families wishing to enroll in an IPS Choice, Innovation, or charter school, or an IPS pre-K program, will be able to claim seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
How can I see which schools have open seats, and how can I complete my enrollment?
On June 3rd, Enroll Indy will be launching our new late enrollment portal for families to view which schools have open seats and at which grade levels, in real time. You will be able to claim a seat and complete enrollment, all from the portal. We’ll also still publish our Open Seat Report every morning so you have an idea of which schools might have seat availability, even if you have not yet created an account or logged in to your existing account. Visit enrollindy.org/openseats to view both the portal and the report.
What if I know I need to find a seat, but have no idea what my options are or where to start?
Enroll Indy has a tool for that! Check out our School Finder, where you can enter your address to view schools near you, or search by grade, academic programs, etc.
If families still find themselves struggling to narrow down their options, our team stands ready to help. Our Family Resource Center (located at 120 E. Walnut St.) is staffed with bilingual Enrollment Guides who are happy to sit with parents and walk through their needs. We can also be reached by phone at (317) 426-3234 or by email at [email protected]
