DIY: Valentine’s Day Ideas

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We love celebrating love. But we know that this holiday sometimes comes with a big price tag. Luckily, with just a few simple supplies, you and your family can make Valentine’s Day memories that will last a lifetime at very little cost.

We recommend making the chocolate covered pretzels first so you have a tasty snack to enjoy while you work on your craft!

DIY Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Ingredients:

  • 2-2 ½ cups semi-sweet or white chocolate chips
  • 3-4 ounces of pretzels
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

Place chocolate in a microwaveable safe bowl and heat for one minute, stirring after 30 seconds.

After chocolate is completely melted, using a fork place 4-5 pretzels in the bowl at a time to submerge in the chocolate.

With the fork, remove the pretzels making sure to allow the excess chocolate to drip off.

Place the pretzels on wax paper and allow them to cool for at least 30 mins. If you are adding sprinkles, do so before the chocolate dries.

DIY Thumb Print Picture Frame

Supplies:

  • Picture frame (can be any color/size and purchased from your local dollar store or Goodwill)
  • Red and pink paint

Directions:

Put your paint on a paper plate.

Dip those little thumbs in the paint and onto the frame, covering the frame with prints.

Let your frame dry over night before placing a picture in there. Use as a gift for siblings, parents, grandparents, yourself – anyone!
