Sweet & Savory Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients:

¼ cup vegetable oil (I used butter-flavored Crisco, but you can use vegetable or canola oil)
½ cup popcorn kernels
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp. sea salt

Instructions:

Set aside a few kernels before mixing the remaining kernels and sugar in a small bowl.

Line your counter top with parchment paper. This is where you will place your popcorn to cool after it is finished cooking.

Add oil to a non-stick pot with a lid. Turn heat to medium-high heat and add the few popcorn kernels that you set aside. As soon as the first kernel pops, add in the reminder of the popcorn and sugar mixture into the pot and stir.

Add popcorn kernels and sugar to the pot and securely place lid on pot. Once the popcorn starts popping, carefully pick the pot up and give it a quick shake every 10 seconds until the popping slows down. Remove immediately from the heat and pour the kettle corn onto the parchment paper.

Sprinkle popcorn with salt and allow to cool for a few minutes. Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container or Ziploc bag for several days. Enjoy!
