Classic Folklore gets an Urban Update

Families can enjoy a fresh take on the time-honored stories of the Brothers Grimm when GRIMMZ Fairy Tales comes to Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel.

Recommended for ages 6 and older, this new play centers on two modern-day street performers, Jay and Will, who bring classic folklore to life with a contemporary urban spin. Performed in hip-hop style amid a brick landscape with graffiti and flashing lights, the featured tales include “Cinderella Remix,” “Rapunzel” and “Snow White & the Seven Shawties.” GRIMMZ Fairy Tales was developed by the New Jersey-based Experiential Theater Company in partnership with the North Carolina-based Children’s Theatre of Charlotte.

The show is set for 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Palladium, 1 Carter Green, Carmel. Tickets are just $25 for adults, $15 for children/students, available at the Palladium’s Fifth Third Bank Box Office, by phone at (317) 843-3800 or online at TheCenterPresents.org/GRIMMZ.

The performance is part of Allied Solutions Center’s Old Town Family Series and the 2024-2025 Center Presents Season sponsored by Allied Solutions.
