What is the camper-to-counselor ratio at City of Fishers Summer Camp?

At City of Fishers Camps, we believe that small group experiences help campers build stronger connections, feel more supported, and stay safe. To ensure high-quality supervision and meaningful engagement, campers are grouped by age and assigned to consistent staff throughout the week.

We are actively pursuing accreditation through the American Camp Association (ACA) and follow their recommended supervision ratios:

  • 5–6-year-olds: 1 staff for every 6 campers
  • 7–8-year-olds: 1 staff for every 8 campers
  • 9–12-year-olds: 1 staff for every 10 campers

These small group structures allow our staff to build strong relationships with campers, provide individualized attention, and maintain a safe and supportive environment throughout the day.

How much time do campers spend outside at City of Fishers Summer Camps?

At City of Fishers Summer Camps, we believe that the best memories are made outdoors. Our campers spend the majority of their day outside, engaging in active play, nature exploration, and group games in our beautiful parks and green spaces. Whether it’s hiking wooded trails, participating in outdoor education, or enjoying water play under the sun, fresh air and movement are central to our camp experience.

In the event of inclement weather, we prioritize camper safety and have indoor spaces available to continue the fun with creative and engaging activities. Rain or shine, our camps are designed to keep kids active, safe, and smiling all summer long.

Does City of Fishers Summer Camp provide lunch/snacks, or do parents need to provide them?

While meals are not provided at City of Fishers Summer Camps, we ask that parents send their campers with a shelf-stable lunch and two snacks each day. This ensures that campers stay energized and ready to enjoy all the fun activities we have planned. Please pack items that do not require refrigeration, as we are unable to store or heat food.
