Celebrate Shamrocks and St. Patrick’s Day Downtown Indy

Downtown Indianapolis is THE place for all things green celebrating St. Pat’s Day.

The celebration begins early! The Greening of the Canal (Ohio and West streets) will take place Thursday, March 12 at 5 p.m. with live music, dancing and local celebrity appearances.

The 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place Friday, March 13 starting at 11:30 a.m. along the Downtown parade route. See Irish-themed floats, helium balloons, school marching bands, Irish dancers and more.

Gear up for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Tent Party March 13 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. This Irish-lovers event features lottery giveaways and live music including a Beautiful Day, Highland Reign and others.

The Rathskeller will host the Indianapolis Downtown Irish Fest March 17 with Irish food and live music. Enjoy music and entertainment all day from Brian Cunningham & The Irish Aires, Mother Grove, Irish Dancers, Gordon Pipers and The Doo! Admission is FREE.

Keep the green fun going for those 21+

Blarney Bash is spreading Irish cheer all weekend long. The main event Saturday, March 14 will feature DJs, live bands, big screen TVs, green beer, food and plenty o’ spirits on Georgia Street’s east block. Even better, Clayton Anderson will be headlining Saturday night. Tickets are available online for $10 presale or $15 the day of.

Start your shenanigans with the St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl March 14 from noon – 6 p.m. You and friends can choose your own adventure with many great venues to find prizes and green drinks.

Get to all your favorite bars with the help of The Irish Stroll Day 1 (March 14) and Irish Stroll Day 2 (March 17) bar crawls. Day 1 will start at 1 p.m. and Day 2 at 5 p.m. The days will both be filled with exclusive drink specials and rowdy fun. Tickets prices vary.

Run first…

Down on your luck? Maybe the Lucky Clover Run will help you get lucky. Enjoy green beer (21+), donuts and a few miles of fun. The 4 Miler will take place at Military Park March 8.

Grab your running shoes and green attire for the Shamrock Run & Walk March 14 at noon. Head to Mass Ave (Indianapolis Fire Department Local Union 416) for a 4-mile run or walk. Stay for the IFD Shamrockin’ Mass Ave Tent Party after the race. This fun event open to all will keep your spirits green.

The Shamrock Beer Run takes place March 14 at noon in Military Park. Grab a beer from local breweries along the way.
