That magical moment is quickly approaching where one lucky child will have the opportunity to “flip the switch” atDowntown Indy, Inc.’s Circle of Lights® presented by IBEW #481 on Friday, Nov. 25. Children ages 3 – 12 can enter the Carson’s Coloring Contest, which runs now through Nov. 14, by decorating the official coloring sheet of a large holiday light bulb.
Carson’s and Downtown Indy, Inc. invite children from all over Indiana to participate. Once again, five $529 CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings Plans will be awarded to five finalists, based on creativity. Additionally, the finalists will receive a $100 gift card from Carson’s. One “grand prize winner” will receive an additional $1,000 courtesy of Carson’s towards a scholarship and will appear on stage with Santa to help light the Monument.
“Carson’s is thrilled to sponsor the Coloring Contest again this year giving children across the state of Indiana a chance to be a part of the Circle of Lights lighting ceremony,” said Jacky Howlett, Carson’s store manager. “Attending The Circle of Lights celebration is a family holiday tradition and we are happy to be part of the celebration.”
Pick up a coloring sheet through Nov. 14 at Carson’s Circle Centre, or any Indiana Carson’s store location, or the IBEW #481 main office. Print additional copies at Carson’s Facebook page or downtownindy.org. The sheet will also be available in the IndyStar in early November or online at indystar.com.

Downtown Indy, Inc.’s Circle of Lights® presented by IBEW #481 will take place Friday, Nov. 25 on Monument Circle from 6 – 8 p.m. More than 100,000 holiday enthusiasts are expected to attend Indiana’s largest, annual, free public gathering now in its 54th year. Central Indiana entertainers selected from statewide auditions and Josh Kaufman will perform and Santa will make his first official appearance of the 2016 season.
