Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site Reopening Timeline

The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site is ready to welcome guests back to the home of America’s Hoosier President.

With the city of Indianapolis’ new public health guidance allowing museums to reopen effective June 19, 2020, the Presidential Site’s team of staff and volunteers are making sure the national historic landmark building, grounds and gardens are optimized for guests’ next visit. The Presidential Site is excited to reopen (albeit with limited capacity) on Friday, June 19th with new ways to serve guests to ensure a comfortable and safe visit.

Phase One: June 19 – July 5

From the Front Porch

FREE 30 minute docent-led outdoor tours

These complimentary 30 minute tours welcome guests to the front door of the President’s national historic landmark home. Please note that tours will be entirely outside of the residence. Enjoy additional self-guided time on grounds and in the historic gardens following the tour! Reservations are required, masks encouraged and social distancing will be maintained.

July 4: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

SPECIAL EVENT: Independence Day Social

The Fourth of July would not be the same without ice cream and good old fashioned patriotic fun at the Presidential Site. Enjoy special “From the Front Porch” presentations every 30 minutes, pre-packaged BRICS ice cream available for purchase, games and take home activities. Get your tickets here.

BONUS: For the first time, we are partnering with the Firecracker Run, which will conduct this year’s race proceedings from Presidential Site grounds.
