Believe It! The Science of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® Comes to The Children’s Museum

Intriguing objects and astonishing artifacts are sure to amaze children and families who visit The Science of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis October 6, 2018 through January 6, 2019.

During this 100th anniversary of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!®, explore the real science behind the unbelievable. Crawl through a life-size model of the largest snake to have ever lived, Titanoboa, and revel at its incredible size! Admire a portrait of Justin Bieber made entirely of candy. Marvel at intricate micro-sculptures so small, they fit in the eye of a needle. Measure up against Robert Wadlow, the world’s tallest man, who grew to 8 feet 11 inches tall! Experience some of the world’s most perplexing optical illusions, and celebrate the life and legacy of Robert Ripley, the cartoonist, collector, and adventurer. Ponder how an octopus with nothing to fossilize became fossilized millions of years ago, a new addition to The Children’s Museum’s collection, on display for the first time!

A century ago, Robert Ripley’s imagination and curiosity to know more about the world around him, inspired, entertained and educated his audiences,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum. “The Children’s Museum seeks to do the same, which is what makes this unique exhibit with its focus on science, relevant and timely for our inquisitive visitors of all ages.”
