At the Top of Every Wish List: Seeing French Lick Resort at the Holidays

Whether it’s already a family tradition to visit French Lick Resort at the holidays — or you’re looking for that perfect spot to make new merry memories — make the trip to see this holiday wonderland right here in the Hoosier State.

The festivities get started early with two grand tree lighting ceremonies: November 15 at West Baden springs Hotel and November 22 at French Lick Springs Hotel. Plan a day trip and take in the lighting of the huge trees plus visits from Santa, holiday music and other surprises. Or, mark December 19 on your calendar to catch a holiday concert with Lady A. (And be sure to arrive a little early for the new Holiday Dinner Buffet.)

Simply admiring the resort’s dazzling holiday decorations, half-million twinkling lights, larger-than-life gingerbread house and festive trees is worth the trip in itself. Be sure to stop by the West Baden Springs Hotel atrium to enjoy performances by the Dickens Carolers (December 6, 13 & 20) and head over to French Lick Springs Hotel to view the spectacular animated light show projected onto the building every evening.

Of course, there’s plenty for families to experience together. Kids can visit with Santa on the weekends, write a letter to St. Nick at the North Pole, make a stuffed buddy at Santa’s Toy Maker Workshop, try story time and cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus, or make a gingerbread house with the rest of the family.

Perhaps the best part of the holiday festivities at French Lick Resort? Their holiday lights, trees and decorations stay up into the first week of January — a little extra time to experience and savor that holiday magic.
