Actors Theatre Of Indiana Presents The Fantasticks

Actors Theatre of Indiana (ATI) —resident professional theatre company of The Studio Theater at The Center for the Performing Arts—will present the 1992 Tony ® Award-winner and the world’s longest-running musical — THE FANTASTICKS — (Title Sponsor, United Fidelity Bank, Underwriter, Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, Hospitality Sponsor, First Merchants Bank, Design Sponsor, Shepherd Insurance and Director Sponsor, Wallack, Somers & Haas), September 11 – 27, 2015 in The Studio Theater.

THE FANTASTICKS, by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, is the world’s longest-running musical — playing for over 50 years in Manhattan and entrancing generations of audiences the world over. This iconic musical tells the story of a boy, a girl, two fathers and a wall. The narrator, El Gallo, originally played by Jerry Orbach, asks the audience to use their imagination and follow him into a world of moonlight and magic. The boy and girl fall in love, grow apart, and finally find their way back to one another after realizing the truth in El Gallo’s words that, “without a hurt, the heart is hollow.” The famous score, which includes the classics, “Try to Remember,” They Were You” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain,” is as timeless as the story itself.

THE FANTASTICKS is directed by Ball State University‘s Department of Theatre and Dance Chair and Full Professor, Bill Jenkins with Musical Direction by Brent E. Marty , Choreography by Tyler Hartman and Fight Choreography by John Tovar. Scenic and Technical design created by Bernie Killian, Sound design by Jonathan Parke, Lighting design by Marciel Greene, Costume design by Katie Cowan-Sickmeier and Props by David “Kip” Shawger. ATI’s Production Stage Manager is Kevin Casey with production assistance by Kaitlyn Yearwood.

Actors Theatre of Indiana welcomes the cast of THE FANTASTICKS, Michael Elliott (Mortimer), Michael Ferraro (Matt), Paul Hansen (Henry), Logan Moore (El Gallo), Laura Sportiello (Luisa) and Holly Stults (The Mute).
