A baby seat that holds an iPad. What a GREAT idea!

I just ordered myself a “Newborn to Toddler apptivity device and let me tell you, I am so excited. In case you can’t tell from the picture, this apparatus is a bouncy seat (also adjusts for toddlers) that allows you to put an iPad right in front of your kid’s face.

This device was a steal at only $80, which is much cheaper than a babysitter. I estimate that after a two nights out on the town this thing will pay for itself! Who needs a babysitter when you can just buckle your kid in the “three point safety seat,” (safety first) and head out the door for Date Night.

All the old bouncy seat’s I’ve used in the past required expensive-to-replace D batteries, but with my new Apptivity seat (clever right?) my iPad can numb my child’s brain for 6 hours on a single charge!!

At first I was disappointed that the seat came with actual touchable toys, but thankfully the mirror and dangling toys are removable. I would hate for my child to intentionally interact with an actual object they can touch. In fact, it may cause some type of sensory overload instead of just passively staring at a screen.

I think it’s neat that there are specific apps for it too. There are apps that develop eye tracking skills, so I will no longer be hassled by having to actually “play” with my child. Unfortunately the apps specific to this toy end after 12 minutes, so I will be forced to peruse the app store where luckily there are thousands of “educational” apps I can find to put in their place.

The Apptivity seat also features, “A reclining seat can be used through the toddler years.” Can you say Netflix subscription anyone?? Honestly, I’m a little jealous that I can’t fit into this thing!

The final feature of this product, that I’m so excited about, is the seat and head pad are machine washable. This will come in so handy the mornings after my little one has popcorn and Pepsi binges watching double features on the iPad, while I nap and watch reality TV.

This product seems to be a win-win, for me and my little one, I’m not sure why so many people are reacting negatively to this product.
