Summer at The International School of Indiana has something for everyone! Each week, campers have the opportunity to participate in an athletic, enrichment, or language camp, allowing students to cultivate their hobbies or try something new.

Partnerships with Amazing Athletes, UNRNKD Hoops, P2Soccer Training, the Inspirit AI Program (hosted alongside graduate students from Stanford and MIT), local enrichment vendors who partner with The International School of Indiana throughout the school year, and the Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies promise that Summer at ISI will be a fun-filled, unique experience for each camper.

What activities are offered?

The International School of Indiana offers a wide variety of camps across language learning, enrichment, athletics, and technology.

  • Amazing Athletes: Camps that teach the basics of sports, health, and nutrition while helping kids build active, healthy habits.
  • Basketball and soccer camps: Offered in partnership with UNRNKD Hoops and P2Soccer Training, along with ISI Soccer Program camps for kindergarten through grade 8 students.
  • Inspirit AI Program (Grades 6–12): Students learn the fundamentals of AI in Python and complete a mentor-led, socially impactful AI project. Cohorts are offered for a range of experience levels, including students with no programming or computer science background.
  • Language Summer Camps (Incoming K–Grade 6): Held in partnership with Indiana University’s Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies. Camps are offered in Arabic, French, Mandarin, and Spanish at beginner and intermediate levels. Lesson content is unique each week and does not repeat, so campers can stick with one language all summer or sign up for multiple languages.
  • Enrichment camps (Ages 3–Grade 6): Camps led by ISI teachers and local enrichment vendors, designed to help students explore new interests or build on existing hobbies.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

Camper-to-counselor ratio ranges from 7:1 to 15:1, depending on activity and the age of campers.

How much time do the campers spend outside?

Camp is held on The International School of Indiana’s 60-acre campus located in Indianapolis on Michigan Road. Though schedules differ based on age and activity, campers will have access to nature trails, an outdoor track, indoor basketball courts, soccer fields, a playground, picnic seating, and a gymnasium.

Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Lunch and snacks are not provided.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

Daily activities will vary based on the specific camp. More information can be found on the Summer at ISI web page.

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

ISI Language Summer Camps are led by faculty from the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University and ISI staff.

Enrichment camps are led by trusted partners who work with The International School of Indiana’s enrichment programming throughout the school year.

Athletic camps are held in partnership with Amazing Athletes, UNRNKD Hoops, P2Soccer Training, and the ISI Soccer Program.

The Inspirit AI Program is hosted in partnership with Inspirit AI and is taught by instructors from Stanford, MIT, and Ivy League universities.

What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?

All camp facilities are wheelchair accessible. Camp counselors can work in partnership with parents to address the individual needs of campers.

Do you have to be an ISI student to participate?

No. Summer at The International School of Indiana camps are open to the community.

Is there a language prerequisite to participate in the Language Summer Camps?

No. Participants can register with no experience required, as language camps are offered at beginner and intermediate levels.
