Indy Parks Gears up for an Exciting Summer!

Are you ready for the best summer ever?

I hope so. In less than two months, Indy Parks is kicking off the most spectacular lineup of 13 day camps, 18 pool and spray ground openings, jazzed up concerts and performances, and providing over 100,000 meals for our city’s youth. Our parks will be jammed packed with unlimited activities, laughter, and lots of fun unforgettable memories.

There’s no way we can pull off such an impressive showcase without an even more impressive team.

400 summer jobs at $8-$15 per hour

In partnership with the City of Indianapolis and its Project Indy Summer Jobs Initiative, Indy Parks is offering more than 400 summer jobs at $8-$15 per hour.

We need cashiers, day camp counselors, lifeguards, program assistants, pool managers, concession attendants, swim lesson instructors and more. That’s a lot of good-paying jobs with dependable, flexible hours, all with the perfect backdrop of being in one of our city’s parks. You really could not ask for a better job.

And, we can’t overlook the impact teens make as lifeguards teaching swim lessons or day camp counselors creating a fun-packed day of activities in the park.

These are big jobs. And we know the perfect candidates are out there.

Indy Parks is offering free lifeguard training

To help lifeguard applicants with improving their swimming skills, Indy Parks is offering free lifeguard training. Every Saturday at George Washington Community School Pool, youth can practice swimming 150 yards, treading water without using their hands for one minute, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 12 feet of water, and more. These free practice sessions are held every Saturday from 12-1 p.m. through May 4.

To apply for Indy Parks jobs, youth and their families have several options:

  • Visit indy.gov/parks to view available positions at Indy Parks.
  • Search the City of Indianapolis jobs list at indy.gov/jobs (for summer jobs, search for seasonal/temporary jobs).
  • Call (317) 327-PARK (7275), or email questions to [email protected].
