Inaugural Hamilton County Bluegrass Festival

Hamilton County Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the inaugural presentation of the Hamilton County Bluegrass Festival (formerly Sheridan Bluegrass Fever).

Past performances were held in Sheridan, Indiana. This year, the popular two-day event is scheduled to take place on July 7th and 8th at historic Bishop’s Park in Arcadia, Indiana. This new location is just minutes from its original site, but more centrally located for music fans.

Grammy-nominated Blue Highway is the festival headliner. The band was nominated this year for Best Bluegrass Album and was voted “The Favorite Bluegrass Artist of All Time” by readers of Bluegrass Today. Blue Highway is part of a special lineup that will include other accomplished bluegrass artists such as local bluegrass phenom, Jeremy Morris and the Harvest Road Band, Borrowed Tyme, Circle City Bluegrass, The New Balance, Thorntown Jammers, Cornfields & Crossroads, and The Boxcars.

Longtime bluegrass enthusiast and Hamilton County Parks Director, Al Patterson, is “grateful to the Sheridan Historical Society and all the event’s sponsors for their support and the opportunity to partner in keeping this wonderful tradition alive.” He has enjoyed the festival in the past and is excited to welcome the artists and bluegrass music fans alike to the new venue.
