Valentine’s Day is all about showing your loved ones just how much they mean to you. It’s been a heck of a year, and now more than ever, we could all use a little more love in our lives. Here are just a few ideas to help you plan a special day with your loved ones.

Grab a To-Go Art Kit from Nickel Plate Arts

Nickel Plate Arts in Noblesville has worked with local artists and businesses to develop beautiful and engaging kits, full of activities and art that will brighten your Valentine’s Day Holiday. Choose from a number of kit options, including their Family Fun Kit, which includes a heart-art painting project from Caravan Classes, plus Valentine’s-themed basic craft supplies and instructions for suggested crafts. Paint a Cute Valentine Cat at Myart

Parents, this is your chance to drop the kids off and enjoy a few hours to yourself. In February, Myart is offering a Cute Valentine Cat with classes at all three studios falling the week of Valentine’s Day. Painting classes for kids are open to ages 5 and up.

Masks are required and COVID precautions are in place. Choose from three classes:

Take a Heart Hike with Fishers Parks & Rec

On Saturday, Feb. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., Fishers Parks & Rec is hosting their signature Heart Hike event, inviting the public to Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, to celebrate Valentine’s Day by taking the Heart Hike, enjoying a free cup of hot cocoa, and warming up by the campfire.

Beginning Feb. 1, Fishers Parks will expand its annual Heart Hike to three parks properties (the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, Heritage Park, and Roy G. Holland Memorial Park) for the entire month in conjunction with American Heart Month. The public will be welcomed to visit each of these locations for a short, scavenger-hunt-style hike to look for heart pictures. These pictures will feature naturally occurring heart shapes in nature – a heart-shaped tree trunk, birds forming into a heart shape, etc. Each location will feature different images, and there will be approximately 20 images along each hike.
