Take a Heart Hike with Fishers Parks & Rec
On Saturday, Feb. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., Fishers Parks & Rec is hosting their signature Heart Hike event, inviting the public to Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, to celebrate Valentine’s Day by taking the Heart Hike, enjoying a free cup of hot cocoa, and warming up by the campfire.
Beginning Feb. 1, Fishers Parks will expand its annual Heart Hike to three parks properties (the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, Heritage Park, and Roy G. Holland Memorial Park) for the entire month in conjunction with American Heart Month. The public will be welcomed to visit each of these locations for a short, scavenger-hunt-style hike to look for heart pictures. These pictures will feature naturally occurring heart shapes in nature – a heart-shaped tree trunk, birds forming into a heart shape, etc. Each location will feature different images, and there will be approximately 20 images along each hike.
