Bloomington’s Only Water Play Park Opens This Friday

Yogi Bear’s Water Zone is scheduled to open at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15 at Jellystone Park.

“We’re excited to kick off the summer season,” said Rachael Stine, general manager of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe.

Yogi Bear’s Water Zone includes water slides, water blasters and dozens of interactive water features that spray, splash and dump thousands of gallons of water, including a 30-foot tall Giant Hydro Storm that dumps 500 gallons of water. This complements the park’s other water attractions which include an outdoor pool and kid’s pool with splash feature.

Yogi Bear’s Water Zone is open to the Resort’s camping and cabin guests, but those who rent the Resort’s pavilion for a birthday party or group event can also participate in the fun. “This is a great spot for events because your party guests can take advantage of all our amenities,” Stine said.

In addition to water attractions, the Resort has a jumping pillow, playground, kiddie train rides, nature trails, gem mining, peddle karts and a snack bar.

Jellystone Park is also providing a boost to the local economy. Twelve seasonal positions have been filled in the areas of food service, maintenance, reservations and retail.
