ZooBoo has arrived. The Children’s Museum Haunted House has opened. And so many more of our favorite Halloween activities are officially kicking off this weekend. This Weekend Top 5 is packed with lots of options for family fun, so let’s get into it.

Gertrude the Wacky Witch is busy preparing for the witches’ pitch in, but little does she know that a room full of {gasp} stinky children are watching her intently. This Halloween-themed show is the studio’s second in its new space inside the Indiana State Museum. And it runs thru October 29! Tickets are $12/pp.

 

The Little Mermaid swims in to Beef and Boards Children’s Theatre

Starting Friday, October 14

We all know Ariel, but this tale tells the story of Melody, Hans Christian Anderson’s Little Mermaid heroine. Children’s Theatre returns to Beef and Boards with this magical story of deep sea adventure. Watch for our review of the show on IndysChild.com this weekend but get your tickets now. Cost is $15.50/pp. The show is onstage thru November 19.

 

He’s baaaaaack: Conner Prairie’s Headless Horseman rides again

Weekend dates, now-October 30

Don’t lose your head over Halloween: The Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie has already done that. He returns to our favorite historic park in Fishers and will make his rounds thru October 30th. From a haunted hayride to catapult fun to a chance for a nighttime ride in the 1859 Balloon Voyage, this is one of our favorite Halloween traditions for sure. Grab the fam for 4th Annual IndyFamilyFest

Saturday, October 16

IndyFamilyFest is a all day celebration of the family with a full schedule of entertainment, shopping, how-to demos, and activities for every member of the family from belly bump to tween. Plus those famous swag bags! Find the fun at the Ritz Charles from 10am-3pm.

 

Get your pumpkin’ing on and hit a local pumpkin patch
