Virgil Park in Brownsburg officially opened to the public in May 2024, and it’s an amazing addition to the westside of Indianapolis! The park spans more than six acres, and provides easy access to the popular B&O Trail, a paved pathway that stretches 8.3 miles through Brownsburg.
Virgil Park Features
Virgil Park features natural elements that preserve existing wetlands and prairie. It also includes a half-mile trail network with boardwalks, an exercise area, a picnic shelter with a year-round restroom facility, and a small playground.
One of the intentions for Virgil Park is to serve as a resource for Brownsburg’s native plant and animal species. It will promote the growth of prairies and woodlands, which protect and nurture a multitude of wildlife species. The park’s natural wetlands and prairies are a haven for pollinators, making it an important addition to the community.
The B&O Trail, which runs through Brownsburg, starts at Virgil Park. Take a walk, run or stroll along the trail that winds through the natural wetlands and prairies, with a boardwalk that lets you experience the park’s beauty and view wildlife up close.
