The Goddard School-Lawrence provides the foundation to encourage your child’s lifelong love of learning. What is your enrollment policy? Are there any key dates parents should be aware of?

The Goddard School® of Lawrence Township-Geist is a year-round program. We recognize major federal holidays and we are closed between Christmas Eve and New Years’ Day. We also conduct Faculty Training and Development twice a year.

What are the standard school day hours? Does The Goddard School of Lawrence Township offer flexible day/hour options? Is before/after school care available?

Our school hours are 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Our school offers your family the flexibility of either a half or full-day schedule. Half-day hours are 9 AM to 1 PM.

How many children are in each class? How are children divided up?

Our Infant Program (1:4 ratio) has two stages of development: Infant I (6 weeks – 6 months) and Infant II: (6 – 12 months). Our Toddler Program (1:5 ratio) has three different stages: First Steps (12 to 18 months), Pre-Toddler (18 to 24 months), Toddler (24 to 30 months). In addition, we have our Get-Set Program (1:7 ratio) with ages that range from 30 to 36 months. Our Preschool Program (10:1 ratio) has two stages of development: Preschool I (young 3’s) and Preschool II (older 3’s – young 4’s). Finally, we have our Pre-K and Jr. Kindergarten (1:12 ratio) for children who are 4 & 5 years old.

What is the teacher/child ratio?

What are the teacher’s credentials?

Teachers are required to be degreed in early childhood education, and certified in CPR & First Aid. All of our faculty go through a stringent onboarding process which includes, drug screening, criminal history background check, physical, TB Testing and extensive training.

Is parental participation required?

No, however, we are open to parent participation in our Geist Parent Organization (GPO) which is a non-profit that assists with fundraising and plans fun family events here at The Goddard School® of Lawrence Township-Geist. Once COVID-19 restrictions ease up, we will again be encouraging Goddard Parents to drop-in at the school any time.

How do teachers communicate with parents? How often do parents receive updates?

Our electronic daily activity report enhances teacher-parent collaboration and communication with an easy, paperless format. With this tool, teachers can keep accurate, thorough child portfolios at their fingertips and connect with you throughout the day. You can learn about your child’s day through daily reports, photos and videos emailed to you by your child’s teacher.

Does The Goddard School of Lawrence Township offer support for students with special needs?

We offer low student-to-teacher ratios and work closely with the child’s therapist to provide an inclusive environment.

How much time do the children spend outside?

Two times per day or more, weather permitting.

Are meals and/or snacks provided?

A nutritious lunch and two (2) snacks are provided. Early morning (7 AM) breakfast can be served for $3 per day.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Yes, if they are age 3 and entering our Preschool Program.

What enrichment programs/activities are offered?

Through our School’s diverse range of enrichment activities, our child will have even more opportunities to learn and grow. Our school offers American Sign Language, Chess, Music Appreciation, Yoga & Mindfulness, Spanish as a second language, Handwriting, Nutrition, Dance, and Physical Fitness. In addition, The Goddard School®’s new, exclusive social-emotional skills development curriculum, Life Lesson Library, harness the power of storytelling to help children develop five core social-emotional skills: Self-awareness, Self-management, Social awareness, Relationship skills, Responsible decision-making.

What are The Goddard School of Lawrence Township’s safety policies? What extra safety measures is The Goddard School of Lawrence Township taking during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Goddard Schools are following the guidance and directives from their state childcare licensing department, health department, local and state government agencies and CDC guidelines to ensure the health and safety of your child. We make the best choices for families and faculty by keeping the health and safety of everyone top of mind. In addition to Goddard’s own rigorous health and safety protocols, we’re reinforcing CDC-recommended preventative measures for our Drop-off and Pick-up procedures, Food Prep procedures, face coverings (all faculty) and social distancing. We have invested in disinfecting equipment by purchasing two Halo units and a large Zono cabinet to disinfect the entire school and keep classroom items/manipulatives clean on a daily basis.
