Operated by Plainfield Parks & Recreation, Splash Island Family Water Park spans 4.3 acres in Plainfield. The Caribbean-themed park has six waterslides, an interactive play area with kiddie slides and water guns, a 900-foot leisure river, a water basketball court, a zero-depth entry kiddie pool with a 500-gallon tip bucket, and a six-lane competition pool with a diving well. Here's what to expect: Six waterslides, including three taller slides added in 2024 with a tube slide and a bowl slide that spins riders before dropping them out. Interactive play area for all ages with kiddie slides, water jets, ropes and guns, plus a splash pad. Leisure River, a 900-foot lazy-river-style float with an optional path through a rock waterfall and coconut tip buckets. Lily pad crossing and two pulsating vortexes for kids who want a challenge. Six-lane competition pool with a diving well featuring two 1-meter springboards. Zero-depth entry kiddie pool with a 500-gallon tip bucket. It's heated for cooler days. Water basketball court in the middle of Leisure River. Cabana rentals available for a more private spot. Bring swimsuits, towels and sunscreen. Coolers and outside food rules are spelled out on the park's policies page, so check before you pack.
