Do you offer financial assistance? Legacy Christian School is committed to making Christian education accessible for families. Our goal is to work with each family to understand their individual situation. We offer half day options for Preschool as well. 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM for Middle School and High School Does Legacy Christian School offer before/after school care? Does Legacy Christian School offer afterschool activities? Before and after school care is available to families at a cost. We offer boys and girls athletic teams, service opportunities, mission trips, and after school clubs. Is there a uniform or dress code? How many students are in the average classroom? Legacy Christian School has nearly 200 students enrolled for 2020/2021. The average class size for Elementary is 14, Middle School 16, and High School is 9. Does Legacy Christian School have a homework policy? Each grade has various homework policies that can be found in our family handbook. Prospective families may review our family handbook when inquiring about the application process. Does Legacy Christian School offer support for students with special needs? Legacy Christian School has limited services to support IEPs. What specialty classes / extracurricular activities does Legacy Christian School offer (gym, art, language, sports etc.)? Arts: The arts are an extremely important component to education at Legacy. They provide a positive and encouraging way for students to gain confidence, build self-discipline and learn how to express themselves through various mediums. Legacy Christian School offers opportunities for all students to explore the arts from preschool through high school. Athletics: Legacy's athletics programs have grown exponentially over the past five years. We offer athletic opportunities for grades 5 through high school. Legacy's Varsity Men's Basketball Team was the 2020 Fall Creek Conference Champions and our Varsity Lady Grizzly Volleyball Team recently won the 2020 ICSAA Regional Championship. Service & Leadership: All students participate in service projects such as: Operation Christmas Child, non-perishable food collection drives, making blankets for the homeless, IDEA food packing days, and high school mission trips to Houston, Texas. Legacy Christian School also offers National Honor Society for high school students and Jr. National Honor Society for middle school students. What are Legacy Christian School’s safety policies? • Legacy Christian School has been a pilot school for the Stanley Shelter Security Lockdown System for the past six years. • All staff are First Aid and CPR certified. • All athletic coaches go through safe school/athletic training. • Legacy's building is locked at all times with only individuals permitted to enter through the front entrance. • We provide background checks for all staff, volunteers, coaches, etc... • Our staff is semi annually trained for safety and security including COVID-19 management. • We have outside safety protocols for outdoor play. • We have an on-site nurse who is certified to care for students health needs in our clinic. What extra safety measures is Legacy Christian School taking during the COVID-19 pandemic? The entire Legacy Christian School staff and leadership are committed to keep our school environment healthy so our students can grow in all academic, physical, emotional, and spiritual areas. Legacy has a Hamilton County Health Department and Legacy School Board approved COVID-19 return to school plan in place for the 2020-2021 school year. Our plan reflects Legacy's desire to have our students in school for five day in-person instruction while continuing to strengthen the "Legacy Family" and maintaining a healthy learning environment for students.
