From a not-so-spooky concert to an encounter with the Headless Horseman, Hamilton County has so many fun Halloween happenings to choose from! Headless Horseman Oct. 12-15, 19-22 and 26-29 Location: Conner Prairie, Fishers The highlight of the festival again this year will be haunted hayrides through the darkness in a land terrorized by the Headless Horseman. The hayride paths have been extended to improve the overall guest experience; rides will transverse a different path than years before and they’ll be longer. A barrel-train ride will also be an attraction for younger children. New this year: check out the brand-new Conner Prairie Corn Maze, open during Headless Horseman evenings. Re-Boo, Re-Wear, Re-Scare Saturday, Oct. 14 and Oct. 21, 1-4 p.m. Location: Cool Creek Nature Center, Carmel Join Hamilton County Parks & Recreation for their annual Halloween costume swap. Bring an unwanted costume or accessory and SWAP it for another one. This is a great way to reuse costumes that no longer fit and save money at the same time. Gymboree Play & Music Gymbo-Ween Costume Party Oct 22 (1-2 pm Baby Party and 4-5:30 pm Reg); Oct 27 (4:00-5:30 Reg); Oct 29 (1:30-3 pm and 4-5:30) Location: Gymboree Play & Music, Carmel Dress up your little ones for a spooktacular Halloween bash & costume party. Enjoy the Parade of Costumes, Ghoulishly Good Crafts, a Slime Squishing Station, Monsterly Fun Music, Climbing a Cobweb, Mask Making and More. Members and non-members welcome. Boo Bash Friday, Oct. 27 6:30-8:30 p.m. Location: Central Green in front of City Hall, Fishers The Fishers Parks and Recreation Boo Bash is a fun Halloween Village filled with local businesses, games, music, costume contests and trick or treating among the various booths for candy - and it’s all FREE! A Sensory Friendly Hour will lead directly into the event from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. that will provide a sensory friendly environment for children with special needs. Note: Due to construction at the Amp, Boo Bash has moved to the Central Green in front of City Hall. Fireside Tales: Hal-O-ween Wednesday, October 25, 6:30-8 pm Location: Simon Moon Park, Westfield Enjoy s’mores around the campfire during this Halloween-inspired story and craft session. Little ones can wear their costumes, if they like, and hear stories that are fun and sometimes just a little scary. Little Haunt on the Prairie Thursday, October 26, 5-9 pm Location: Cool Creek Park, Carmel Little Haunt on the Prairie at Ghoul Creek Park is fun for the whole family! Spooky, yet-age appropriate Halloween activities will be offered for children ranging from preschool to school-ages and their families! You are welcome to come in your costumes and enjoy nature interpretation, entertainment, a hayride, food for purchase, and activities for the little ones as they trick-or-treat their way through this spooky event. $3 per person and please bring a non-perishable or canned food item to donate to Amanda Strong Food for the Needy. Family Community Halloween Party Friday, Oct. 27, 6:30-8:30 pm Location: Forest Park shelters #3 and #5, Noblesville Bring the family to Forest Park for some kid-friendly Halloween fun. Enjoy not so spooky tales around the campfire, wagon rides, games, snacks, a dance and more! Costumes are welcome but not required. This event is FREE to the public. Market District "Carnifall" Festival Saturday, Oct. 28, noon-4 pm Location: Market District, Carmel Children dressed in costumes are invited to parade through the store to “trick or treat” and receive a bag stuffed full of Halloween treats. Guests will enjoy a DJ, face painters, family games, seasonal food samplings, a cupcake walk, cookie decorating, and more. Halloween Howl at Urban Chalkboard October 28, 10 am-noon Location: Urban Chalkboard, Carmel Halloween events can be overwhelming for littlest ghouls and goblins. Don't miss out on the all the cute, costumed fun! Bring your family to this not-so-scary Halloween Howl, featuring games, music, treats, and the most adorable costume parade you've ever seen. Event is included with your cafe admission. $10/kids, adults are free.
