After weeks of anticipation, Sit Still Kids Salon opened to the greater Indianapolis community on June 15. The salon is spearheaded by owner Nicole Danielson, whose shop specializes in cutting kids’ hair and has a goal to create a “fun-filled experience for everyone” that comes through her shop.
Danielson’s salon caters to kids through its eco-friendly games and toys, which kids can play with prior to their appointments. Each styling station also has individual tablets to entertain kids while they get their hair cut or styled. Stylists at Sit Still are specialists in the art of empowering children to express their unique personalities through their hair.
The salon offers a variety of services, including baby’s first haircut, long and short cut, and is able to assist clients interested in donating according to Wigs for Kids guidelines. Stylists are also trained to cut and style both curly and coily hair.
In addition to haircuts, Sit Still offers a selection of services, including Sparkle Strands, which is having five or 10 colored silk-based sparkle strands woven into the hair for a glitter and shimmer effect. Also available are feather extension, a color consultation for temporary or semi-permanent color services, special hair styling, and a “teach me how to braid” session, which is a braiding class for one adult and one child to learn up to five braids of your choice.
Danielson and her staff also offer a selection of party packages, which are different packages of glitter tattoos, sparkle strands, curls, braids, mini manis, and photo keepsakes.
