Rodgers & Hammerstein’s A Grand Night for Singing

Actors Theatre of Indiana — resident professional theatre company of The Studio Theater at The Center for the Performing Arts presents its second production in the 2017-18 season, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s, A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING.

Taste and imagination, the two key ingredients for a first-rate revue, abound in this fresh take on the Rodgers &

Hammerstein canon conceived by Tony Award® winner Walter Bobbie. Over three decades after the duo’s final collaboration, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, took the Great White Way by storm, it was in fact this new R&H musical that opened the 1994 Broadway season with flair and distinction, garnering wildly enthusiastic notices as well as earning two Tony® nominations, including Best Musical! A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING pays homage to their remarkable body of work in a FRESH and INNOVATIVE musical revue featuring over 25 LEGENDARY songs including…“I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair,” “Honeybun,” and “Kansas City”…to name just a few…

It’s been said that Rodgers and Hammerstein’s songs are like snowflakes – no two are alike – and, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Great American Songbook! Actors Theatre of Indiana welcomes the cast of A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING, Ian Black, Actors Theatre of Indiana co-founder and Associate Artistic Director, Cynthia Collins, Nathalie Cruz, Actors Theatre of Indiana      co-founder and Artistic Director, Don Farrell, and AnnaLee Traeger. A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING is directed and choreographed by Carol Worcel, with music direction by Levi Burke.
