Punch Bowl Social

Summertime has its challenges. While we can’t seem to wait for it to come, once it arrives, we parents often find ourselves perplexed with what to do with our kids. Well, the lane to fun is open for you at Punch Bowl Social.

Specifically, Kids Bowl Free. That’s right, FREE on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 11 am to 2 pm, June 15- August 31st.

How does the promo work? Kids 15 and younger (must be accompanied by an adult) get one hour of free bowling and complimentary bowling shoes to use while they bowl.

Our friends at Punch Bowl Social invited my family out to experience all the fun you can have while you are there. Whether you are looking for fun for the kids, with the kids, with your friends, or with your friends and their kids – Punch Bowl Social has options for everyone.

Let’s start with the bowling. There are several sets of lanes all through the Punch Bowl Social downtown location. You can play with the bumpers up or down (this option can also be set by the player – so if you need it and the kids don’t, it can be programmed that way).punch bowl social

The computer keeps your score and animates the game as you go. The pins are actually attached to cords, but the complexity (or simplicity if you are an avid bowler) of the game stays the same.

Most bowling alleys offer you the stylish footwear for use while you bowl. Punch Bowl Social kicks it up a notch and also offers you the opportunity to purchase socks to grace the lanes in (socks are not part of the bowling package).

My kids picked out a pair that reminded them of Harry Potter and rocked them on the lanes and later in the arcade. *see feature image*

Speaking of kids, one of the biggest plights of parenthood is waiting. Another really cool aspect of Punch Bowl Social is that they offer many different ways to entertain you while you wait. And there are many free forms of entertainment. For example, if you have to wait for a lane, they have a whole stack of board games and card games that your family and/or friends can play (for free) while waiting. There’s also darts (free), cornhole (free), a large scrabble game on a wall (free), a giant Jenga game (free), and a bocce ball court (you guessed it – free).

The incredible thing about the setup is that not only are there all of these entertainment options, but there are so many options for you to be social with your group.

Oh wait, I forgot a few. There’s also several karaoke rooms. The kids wouldn’t let me sing (I’m far too talented, obviously), but we did peek inside the Shout Shack. What a fun place to gather a group and belt out your favorite Disney tunes or pop tunes. In the room, you can sync your own Spotify playlist or use available songs from the list they have.

There’s also an arcade that took me back to my childhood. Skeeball, video games, pinball, and much more. The games are relatively cheap – costing between .50 and $1.00 a swipe.

I’ve mentioned all the fun we had, but it would be a shame not to mention the food and beverage portion of Punch Bowl Social. There are a wide varieties of beverages, appetizers, and meals from which to choose. In fact, there is a full juice bar in case you prefer that type of nourishment. There really is something for everyone here.

A special thanks to Punch Bowl Social for having my family. We will definitely be back again soon.

Disclosure: My visit and food while at Punch Bowl Social were comped, but my thoughts and words are my own.
