Out and About: Fishers, IN

Parkinson’s is a life altering disease that not only affects the person with the disease but also forever changes the lives of their family and friends. But the Parkinson’s journey does not have to be walked alone. Join the Indiana Parkinson Foundation at Fisher’s Saxony Park on Saturday, September 20 to race to beat the disease.

Approximately 50,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with Parkinson’s each year, with 4-6 million people affected by the disease worldwide. There is currently no cure for the disease but the Indiana Parkinson Foundation is committed to helping people living with Parkinson’s get their lives back. Join the community and support the cause at the second annual Choose to Move race at Saxony Park on September 20. Take part in a family & pet friendly 5k, a USATF-Certified 5K timed run, as well as a timed 10K course. Bring your friends to cheer you on and enjoy live entertainment all morning long. All proceeds will benefit the Indiana Parkinson Foundation.

If your family’s life has been affected by Parkinson’s disease, the Indiana Parkinson Foundation would love to come alongside you in your care for your loved one. The foundation’s CLIMB program offers a variety of physical therapy and exercise classes throughout Indianapolis in addition to offering motivational support and spiritual guidance.
