Multicultural enrichment in Carmel

The Russian School of Indiana was founded in the summer of 1993 by a handful of immigrant families who were looking for a way to stay connected to their Russian language and culture. More than twenty years later, the Russian School is now housed at University High School in Carmel and has evolved into a well-rounded enrichment center. In addition to Russian language, there are now classes in 16 other subjects, including chess, art and painting (taught by the famous Georgian artist Sandro), advanced math, music, Hebrew, theater, dance, ballet, programming and Yoga-Pilates fusion. Classes are offered in Russian and English for both children and adults. The curriculum is truly multicultural as is the cadre of instructors. The school recently held its annual Russian Festival, which attracted more than 1,100 visitors from across central Indiana.

People from more than 30 nationalities call Hamilton County and the surrounding areas home. The Russian school offers a truly multicultural experience that all can benefit from. For more information, visit www.indydeti.com.
