Olympic Spirit Comes to The Waterpark

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation will host the Ultimate Waterpark Olympics in The Waterpark at the Monon Community Center on Saturday, August 6 beginning at 7:30 pm. Participants of all ages are welcome to partake. Registration is $5 per person.

“There are a lot of really cool features in The Waterpark,” said Leah Weprich, Aquatics Programs Supervisor at Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation. “This is a great opportunity for us to showcase some of those features all while bringing people together in a fun and unique way in the spirit of the 2016 Olympics in Rio.”

Categories include rock climbing on The Wall (AquaClimb®), riding the FlowRider®, log rolling, jumping through the lily pad course, lazy river laps, a water balloon toss and more. Participants will choose the categories they want to join in on when they arrive. “They [participants] will be judged based on their skills in each event,” said Weprich. “We want to see who has the best tricks on the FlowRider® and who can move across the lily pads fastest without falling in.”
