Notable Dad Moments of 2015

2015 was an awesome year for dads. Here are just a few of my favorite dad moments from the past year.

The first one started way back in early 2015 during the Super Bowl. The Dove Men+Care commercial was a great representation of dads being loving, caring, present dads. Dove Men + Care Super Bowl commercial.

Some new ground was broken in the workplace for new dads in 2015. Notable companies like Facebook and Netflix offered, for the first time, paid paternity leave for new dads.

After much support and months of “encouragement” from dad bloggers around the globe, Amazon Mom became Amazon Family. We’d known for years it wasn’t just mom ordering diapers and household products, we just needed to gently remind Amazon that in fact was the case.

City Dads Group on the rise. What started as two former teacher-dads looking to connect with other dads, grew to hundreds of dads, in fourteen cities, gathering for MeetUps, New Dad Boot Camps and the Modern Dads Podcast.

For some weird reason, 2015 became the year of the Dad Bod. It was no longer a thing for guys to be muscular, instead it was cool (and women even said it was sexy) for guys/dads to have beer bellies. A short lived fad I’m sure.

Finally, one of my favorite viral videos of the year was of the dad reacting to his wife telling him she was pregnant, after trying for 15 years to have a baby. I love this video.

Happy New Year! Looking forward to what 2016 has to offer.
