The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky is a must-visit destination for car enthusiasts and families alike. The museum is dedicated to celebrating the history and culture of America’s favorite sports car and offers a range of exhibits and activities for visitors of all ages.
Lots to See at the National Corvette Museum
The highlight of the museum is its impressive collection of over 80 Corvette models, spanning several decades of the car’s production history. Visitors can see rare and iconic models up close, from the classic Sting Ray and Z06 to the latest C8 Corvette. The museum also showcases concept cars, race cars, and even a few celebrity-owned models, including a car owned by Elvis Presley.
In addition to the car exhibits, the museum offers a range of interactive experiences that allow visitors to get hands-on with the Corvette brand. Kids can enjoy the Corvette Kids Zone, which features interactive displays and activities, while adults can take a guided tour of the museum or even drive a Corvette on a nearby track.
There’s a Sinkhole Under the Museum!
One of the most unique experiences at the museum is the Corvette Cave-In exhibit, which tells the story of a sinkhole that opened up under the museum in 2014, swallowing eight rare Corvettes. Visitors can see the damaged cars on display and learn about the museum’s efforts to recover and restore them.
Go-Karting
The NCM Motorsports Park is a state-of-the-art facility located just across the street from the National Corvette Museum. The park offers a range of driving experiences, from go-karting to high-performance driving courses and even racing events. While it’s not directly affiliated with the National Corvette Museum, it’s a great complement to a visit to the museum, allowing visitors to get behind the wheel and experience the thrill of driving at high speeds.
Stingray Grill
Have lunch at the Museum’s Stingray Grill—open daily from 10am-3pm. Just outside the entrance of the restaurant, you can see brand new, custom ordered Corvettes through the Corvette Museum Delivery Program. Buyers take delivery of their new Corvette at the museum and enjoy a unique and memorable experience. Once the vehicle is ready, it will be shipped directly to the museum, where the new owners can pick it up and enjoy a VIP experience, including a guided tour of the museum and the Corvette production facility, a photo opportunity with your new Corvette, and a commemorative plaque recognizing your participation in the program.
