Browse a wide variety of fossils, cut and uncut gemstones, and minerals from all over the world at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites’ 22nd annual GEOFest, happening February 21-23, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Enjoy three days and three floors of rocks, minerals and fossil specimens! Whether you are a rockhound, a fossil enthusiast, or you just love crystals and gems, there is something exciting for you to discover. Partake in hands-on activities with community partners and museum staff … and even see REAL dinosaur skeletons!

Visitors can browse 25 booths of vendors from across the country, selling a variety of items from beautiful cut and uncut gems, giant geodes, incredible fossil and mineral specimens, polished stones, jewelry and more.



This year’s event, sponsored by Irving Materials, Inc., includes hands-on activities throughout the museum. Children will enjoy digging into Indiana’s Ice Age past and testing their construction skills at the earthquake simulator. Visitors can also explore the naturalists’ lab and museum galleries to discover sparkling geodes, ancient fossils and geological artifacts, including a real moon rock.
Irving Materials, Inc., will bring their cement truck and help guests make their own trilobite paperweight. Attendees can connect with several local science clubs and other community partners to learn more about geology, paleontology and earth sciences.
GEOfest is free for members and included with museum admission, which is $20 for adults, $14 for youth (ages 3-17) and $18 for seniors. Visitors can save on admission by purchasing their tickets in advance online at www.indianamuseum.org.
