Monumental Yoga returns June 21st

On Sunday, June 21 at noon, Monument Circle will come alive with yogis of all different levels to celebrate Indy’s love for the ancient practice of yoga, the summer solstice and the inaugural International Day of Yoga.

The 3rd annual Monumental Yoga encourages new and advanced yogis, alike, to participate in Indy’s largest free yoga event.

This summer parents and their children (ages 6+) are invited to join in on the fun. There will be a special 45-minute routine held in the shade of the Emmis Building located on the southwest side of the Circle. The superhero inspired routine will take place simultaneously with the main event and will incorporate partner poses and end with a relaxing savasana. It will be a unique and empowering bonding experience for families to enjoy together!
Participants are encouraged to arrive early for pre-event happenings in our first ever Yoga Village. There will be live music by DJ HyFi, acro yoga and hooping demos and complimentary guided meditation. There will also be parent and child activities at the “Play Works” booth.
Parents should bring a mat and water for themselves as well as each of their children and should plan on doing the routine by their side. Parents may also consider bringing sunscreen and a snack so their kids can enjoy the day in comfort.
