Migration Celebration

Everyone is invited to celebrate the amazing migration of monarch butterflies at the Hamilton County Parks Cool Creek Nature Center’s MIGRATION CELEBRATION on Saturday, September 24, from 11 am to 4 pm  Monarch butterflies are flying through Indiana on their long trek to Mexico.  Learn about their incredible journey, while enjoying FREE entertainment for the youngest visitors provided by Ruditoonz at 11:30 am and 1 pm, along with games, crafts and a naturalist-led hike.  Guests will even be treated to the music of a lively mariachi band – Mariachi Sol Jalisciense at noon!  Delicious south of the border food will also be available for purchase during the celebration.

Judy Burris and Wayne Richards, authors of The Lifecycle of Butterflies will further enlighten attendees during their highly-regarded and family friendly presentation at 2:00 p.m.

The day’s fun and educational activities are part of Hamilton County Park and Recreation’s Mission Monarch program.
