Join Child Advocates for the Superhero Run

A superhero isn’t defined by powers or costumes. A superhero is defined by caring about the plight of others and having the courage to do something about it.

Superhero Run on June 25 supports the 7,000 children in Marion County who are victims of abuse and neglect every year. By participating in the superhero run, you are ensuring that each of these children have voices in court and are placed in safe and permanent homes as soon as possible.

What is Child Advocates? Child Advocates is a non-profit organization comprised of staff members and volunteer advocates who represent the best interest of abused and neglected children who find themselves in the Marion County Child Welfare System. Child Advocates recruits and thoroughly trains community volunteers who advocate for those children in Marion County Juvenile Court based solely their best interests.

Every day in Marion County, more than 20 children enter the child welfare system due to abuse and neglect. Many live in worlds so unlike our own, having never experienced a healthy and loving family environment. We make sure these children do not get lost in the system that their needs are met during the course of their court cases, and that safe, permanent homes are found for them as soon as possible.

In 2015, Child Advocates served over 7,575 children. Will you run for one?

By participating in the Superhero Run you are helping provide a voice for children who desperately need one. We encourage you to walk, run or fly with us at the Child Advocates Superhero Run because every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes! It will be a “super” fun day full of kid’s activities, costume contest and so much more.
