Indy Parks Now Hiring for Summer Jobs

With weeks of swimming, day camps, and countless programs on the calendar, Indy Parks is hiring for hundreds of summer positions.

Lifeguards ($13/hr), Pool Managers ($14.50/hr), and Cashiers ($11/hr)

Splashing around in the pool is a favorite summer memory, and lifeguards keep people safe at the pool by being an extra set of eyes on everyone in the water. We train them and help them get certified in First Aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support. They need to be strong swimmers, and potential applicants can practice their skills for free during open swim hours at Thatcher Park and Indy Island.

We also rely on our pool managers to keep pools safe and clean for everyone who stops by to swim this summer. That includes supervising lifeguards and making sure all health and safety rules are followed across the facility. Cashiers are a big part of our aquatics staff, helping to collect fees and track admission into pools and register people for aquatic programs.

Camp Counselors ($12/hr)

This summer, we are putting on camps at 13 parks across Indianapolis, focusing on arts, swimming, nature, sports, and more. Our camp counselors help facilitate fun memories for kids of all ages, coordinating days of activities while making sure campers stay safe and healthy. The ideal camp counselor is a great communicator who has a passion for working with children.

Food Program Coordinators ($12/hr)

Indy Parks served more than 300,000 free meals across Indianapolis last year. Most in the summer months, when schools were out for the summer. This wouldn’t be possible without our food program staff. These people help count meals, track deliveries to our food program sites, and ensure our free meal programs continue without a hitch.

We have several more seasonal positions available, including facility attendants and stage technicians. You can apply for summer openings and year-round positions here. We’ll see you at the parks this summer!
