WHAT: The Indianapolis Museum of Art will host two unique shopping events during tomorrow’s first-Thursday free hours from 4 to 9 p.m.
During the Holiday Hullabaloo shopping extravaganza, stock up on unique holiday gifts and seasonal décor at the IMA’s three shopping destinations. Pick up trendy homewares and handmade jewelry in the Museum Store, vintage holiday ornaments in the Lilly House Christmas Shop, and a succulent planter or evergreen wreath from the Greenhouse Shop. Enjoy trunk shows, live music, luminaries and complimentary gift wrapping at this festive holiday event. Shuttles will be provided to transport guests from the Museum entrance to Lilly House.
At the second annual Monster Drawing Rally, watch local artists create original works of art and purchase your favorites on the spot. Over 75 artists will work in three, one-hour rounds at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. to produce as many drawings as possible in their allotted time. Each of the completed drawings is available for sale as soon as it hits the wall (first come-first serve) for a flat price of $35. All proceeds support IMA programming.
After your shopping adventure, continue the festivities with a trip to Christmas at Lilly House, featuring live music for the evening, and explore the luminary-lit paths of the historic Oldfields estate. Afterwards, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate in the IMA Café. The IMA galleries and gardens will also be open until 9 p.m.
