2017 Indianapolis Farmers Market Guide

It’s that time of year again: Indianapolis Farmers Market Season! We’ve compiled a list of Indianapolis farmers markets but we’re certain we’ve missed a couple so let us know if your go-to-market isn’t listed here and we’ll add it!

Here’s our 2017 Indianapolis Farmers Markets Guide:

 

Central

38th Street/Meridian Farmers’ Market: Located at the tip of the Butler-Tarkington/Meridian-Kessler Neighborhoods – and adjacent to the soon-to-be-revitalized Tarkington Park, this open-air market offers fresh produce, local goods, nutritional information and health screenings.
Date/Time: June-September (1st & 3rd Thursdays), 4:00-6:30pm
Location: 3808 N. Meridian St, Indianapolis, behind Meridian Methodist Church

Abundant Life Church Market: This year kicks off the 11th annual season of the ALC Farmers Market, something the church notes they organize to ‘connect our neighbors and support local farmers.’ Grab produce, baked goods or even some Kona Ice for your stroll around the stands.
Date/Time: June 1- September 28, Thursdays, 4:00-7:00 pm

Broad Ripple Farmers’ Market: A highly-trafficked Saturday tradition packed with local farmers, baked goods, your favorite creameries {Tulip Tree, Ludwig and occasionally Trader’s Point}, live music and more. This year they will be introducing several new environmentally friendly programs designed to help everyone reuse and recycle! 
Date/Time: Saturdays, May 6- Septemeber/ 8:00 am- Noon and October- November. 9:00 am- Noon

City Market: “The Original Farmers Market”  in downtown Indiana
polis is a favorite for grabbing a bite to eat during the workday or shopping fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods, flowers and more. Grab lunch with the family or friends indoors before heading back to your day’s routine.

Date/Time: Wednesdays, May- September, 9:30 am-1:30 pm (Rain or Shine) 
Location: Outside the City Market located on Market Street, between Delaware and Alabama Streets, Ddowntown Indy

Irvington Farmers’ Market: In the 16th season of the market, this cozy Irvington spot consists of more than 70 farmers and vendors, local non-profit organizations, preschools and more.
Date/Time: Second Sundays of each month from June-October. 12:00 -3:00 pm

JCC Market: Shop for fresh local produce, baked goods and dairy products at this year-round market which shifts to the Hoover Rd. parking lot in the warmer months. Purchase a reusable tote at the welcome table or enjoy yoga on the lawn every second Sunday.

Market At Hague: Formerly the Binford Farmers Market, this new location has rumored to have been a great move to accommodate more space and vendors. Over 100 vendors dot this market and a small number of wagons are available to use while shopping if needed.
Date/Time: Saturdays starting, May 6- October. 8:00 am- Noon

Normandy Farms “Farm To Fork” Market: Open year-round, this market promotes itself as Indy’s only chemical-free farmers market’ as many vendors are certified organic or naturally-grown.
Date/Time: Fridays. 4:00-7:00pm
Location: Historic Normandy Farm, 7802 Marsh Rd, Indianapolis

Statehouse Market: The 2015 market debuts in a slightly newer location than previous years, with produce vendors setting up along Washington Street and food trucks parked on south Senate Avenue. This is a popular lunch spot for State employees so get there early for the best selection/shortest lines!
Date/Time: Thursdays thru October. 10:30 am-1:30 pm
Location: Indiana State Museum Lawn, 650 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 until further notice.  The market plans on moving back to Senate Avenue when construction is complete.

Garfield Park Farmers’ Market: This new Indy addition strives to create a better community amongst farmers and consumers while creating the perfect gathering place.  The market has over twenty vendors, including the Nicey Treat, a local favorite.
Date/Time: Saturdays,  May 6- October. 9:00 am-12:30pm.
Location: Garfield Park next to the tennis courts near the corner of Shelby St. and E. Southern Ave.

North

Carmel Farmers’ Market: A growers- and producers-only market with plenty of produce, dairy, plants and prepared foods. Live music fills the air while shoppers visit stands, and it’s obvious why this has long been a favorite Carmel stop.
Date/Time: Saturdays, May 6 thru September 30. 8:00 -11:30 am

Cicero Farm Market: As one of the newest in the Indy area, the Cicero Market is working hard to grow and even asks vendors to arrive early to assist with setup. Fresh produce and even native wildflowers from Woodland Creations available for purchase.
Date/Time: Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays & Fridays, 10:00 am-7:00 pm.

Fishers Farmers’ Market: A staple in the Nickel Plate District, the Fishers Farmers Market opened this year welcoming Archers Meats offerings, Tilly’s Tea Room scones, Spencer Farms produce, live music and much more.
Date/Time: Saturdays, May 6- September 30, 8:00 am-12:00pm
Location: Nickel Plate Park, 6 Municipal Drive, Fishers

Fortville Farmers’ Market of Hancock County: Sponsored by the Fortsville-McCordsville Chamber of Commerce, this weekly summer market features local produce, artisans, and occasional kids-centric activities like petting zoos or giveaways.

Noblesville Main Street Farmers’ Market: As the oldest market in H
amilton County, you’ll find more than 80 vendors onsite, including fresh produce/dairy and local artisans. A smaller “European-style” market is also available on Thursdays from 5-8pm

Zionsville Farmers’ Market: Presented by IU North Hospital, this market boasts a wide array of local businesses like B. Happy Peanut Butter, Cornerstone Bread, Darrin’s Coffee, and My Sugar Pie, with plenty of fresh produce and dairy products to boot. Snag food to go from your favorite local spot and mill around the market with the family.

South

Beautify Beech Grove’s Farmers’ Market: Features produce, Simply Divine cupcakes, honey, peanut butter and treats for your pets at home.

Greenwood Farmers’ Market: All your favorite farmers market fare in one spot, the Greenwood market always seems to have an abundance of what visitors are looking for from local produce and dairy to baked goods.
Date/Time: Saturdays, May 13- October 14,  8:00 am- Noon

Plainfield Chamber Of Commerce Farmers’ Market:  Features a host of pr
oduce, baked goods, crafters, non-profit organizations and food trucks including Oberweis Dairy, Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library, Arcane Coffee and more.

Southport Farmers’ Market: Plenty of local produce, dairy and baked goods, with special appearances by Oberweis Dairy and Simply Divine Cupcakes.

WestsideBrownsburg Farmers’ Market: Winner of ‘Best Farmers Market of Hendricks County’ a couple years running, the Brownsburg market is presented by IU Health West Hospital. Brownsburg Parks also partner to offer a monthly summer concert series on-site.

Southwest sideAvon Farmers’ Market: The Town of Avon shows their commitment to help the community ‘buy fresh’ as they note on their website by offering this weekly market featuring local produce, baked goods, flowers and more, all by vendors who live within a 60-mile radius of Avon.

EastsideGreenfield Farmers’ Market: A lively market, Tyner

Pond Farms frequently makes appearances here as does Bee Coffee Roasters. Visitors will also find plenty of produce, baked goods, and other artisanal items to fill their cupboards.

Eastside – Cumberland Farmers’ Market: This eastside market has grown immensely since its beginning in 2004.  The market offers a wide variety of local food and craft items. Throughout the season, the market offers live entertainment.
